Holidays Are Here Again…

Let’s Be Altruistic and Show Our Gratitude

For many years, my family and I have spent time before Christmas collecting hand-made cards and notes for our veterans in the Coatesville Veteran Affairs Medical Center as well as other homeless veterans. Watching their faces and meaningful expressions when we hand out the cards is priceless and one of the best gifts I could ask for. Knowing that we brightened their days, even for a little bit makes such a difference.

Then a number of years ago, I decided I wanted to step up our efforts to make a difference in people’s lives and created Wishes for Our Warriors. Through WOW, every year around the holidays, Valentine’s Day and just before summer, we send out requests for essentials needed by our homeless population. These letters ask people, businesses, schools, and other foundations to donate things like blankets, sweaters, socks, gloves, hats, twin sheets, toilet paper, samples of things like tissues, razors, shaving cream, body wash, lotion, bandaids, brushes, handwarmers, first aid kits, pop top canned foods, laundry detergents and clothes…just to name a few!  Please help us continue that grateful, altruistic spirit you have all provided in previous years.

There are countless people nearby in need of our help. So many more each day! We will be collecting for those in need in Chester and Montgomery Counties. Now that we have become an LLC, we will be doing these types of collections more than normal. Hopefully we can continue to find such generous, caring people to donate and continue our passion of helping those in need.

While we are all making plans for whatever holidays we may celebrate, and a New Year coming along very shortly, please won’t you take the time to think about the countless men, women and children who are trying to figure out where to get warm clothes, food, and their next source of shelter for the cold weather to come.

If anyone has any clothes or other essentials from the list attached at any time, feel free to contact me at the number below. There are way too many people out there cold and in need of things so many of us take for granted sometimes.
